Culicoides midorensis Arnaud 1956: 113. TL Japan

Diagnosis and Notes

The wings are greyish, with two rather indistinct pale bands across the wings, one at the level of the corss-vein from the costa to cell an, the other at the level of the second radial cell, which is in a pale spot. The female AR is 1.05 and the SD is 3, 13-15. The male genitalia as shown; the parameres distinctive with flattened ends and three or four teeth, the ninth sternite membrane bare. In this respect it resembles C. tbilisicus but the female differs in both the SD and AR.
